Advanced certification as a Corrective Exercise Specialist by (NASM). Certified YMCA Active Older Adult Exercise Instructor. Foundations of YMCA Group Exercise Certification. Adult CPR and First Aid Basics through the American Red Cross. Member of IDEA Health & Fitness Association. Extensive experience training clients with multiple sclerosis and in wheel chairs. BS in Environmental Planning and Management from UC Davis. Ran cross country and played baseball in highs school. Been involved with personal fitness entire life. Has two daughters, 18 and 23. Experience working with children of all ages (SCU Basketball Camps, summer sports camps, daycare assistant, family babysitting). YMCA Certified Trainer. Lettered in Volleyball, Basketball, and Softball in Highschool grades 9-12. Enjoys white water rafting, mountain biking, hiking, camping, photography and spending time with her family. Certified Personal Trainer by the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). UC Berkeley Graduate with B.S. degree in Nutritional Science. Cornell University Dietetic Internship Graduate. Adult/Child CPR and First Aid certified through the American Red Cross. American Dietetic Association, member since 2004. Melinda also currently works as a Registered Dietitian for Stanford’s Teen Health Van program. Her fitness background includes training in a variety of sports and martial arts activities including: Volleyball, Boxing, Muay Thai Kickboxing and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Melinda is also an experienced salsa dancer, and has trained and performed with PB&G Productions dance company for over a year. She also enjoys yoga, cardio-kickboxing, running, hiking and taking care of her two cockatiel birds, Pico and Tiki. Katie Ricketts
